I drove past this small building when I was headed home from a photo trip of a different church. Located on 62nd street behind the south campus of New Augusta Public Acamedy, if you aren't looking for it chances are you will miss it. I wasn't even what it was, but I decided to take some pictures of it, and find more about it when I home.
Kind of glad i did, it turns out that Bahá’í is a very interesting thing according to the website of faith center:
The Bahá'í Faith, founded in 1844, teaches that all religions are one and that mankind is one. In the words of Bahá'u'lláh (whose name means The Glory of God in Arabic): "The earth is but one country and mankind its citizens."
Bahá'u'lláh taught that God sends Divine Teachers to mankind at various points in time to teach the word of God to the people of the day. These Divine Teachers include Abraham, Zoroaster, Buddha, Krishna, Moses, Jesus Christ, Muhammad, and most recently the Báb and Bahá'u'lláh; the twin Manifestations of God that declared themselves in 1844 and 1863, respectively. The Báb (which means The Gate in Arabic) declared in 1844 that he was the Prophet of God who would pave the way for his successor Bahá'u'lláh.
This is one place I want to come back to after i find out a little more about it.
Be sure to check out the website for the center here.
